"Luis was brilliant, understanding and patient with me. He helped me get into drama school. Even after having left drama school, I still use his exercises to keep me limber.

Fred Szkoda-Pugsley, Lead Actor at Empty Kingdom Theatre Company
I just wanted to express my grateful thanks for your superb help with the speech for my daughter's wedding. Your professional skills inspired me with the confidence I required for the dreaded moment of getting up in front of a lectern with an audience of over 100 guests. The patience you afforded me in your lessons certainly paid off as I took on board your various tips about structure, tone, phrasing, pitch, pace, power and pause.
I was "gobsmacked" afterwards when everybody commented on my brilliant speech and that mine was the best and the funniest of the three made! This was also borne out by the thank-you letters which we received later.
Very many thanks for helping me out and I would have no hesitation in recommending your expertise to others."
Alistair McClure, Scotland

First of all, thank you for giving the students such a pleasant and worthwhile experience. They all felt that they had a positively rewarding experience and were thrilled by your comments, as indeed I was myself. Thank you for a very pleasant day. It was a pleasure to have you with us in Bangor."
Patricia, Speech and Drama Teacher and International adjudicator
On behalf of the Speech and Language Therapists' Special Interest Group in Voice (Scotland), may I thank you for your excellent presentation on the 23rd April.
For a group of people with such an interest in voice, your talk was fascinating and pitched at exactly the right level, (pardon the pun!) We all relished to see a singing teacher in action and you must thank your three students for coming along on the day and performing for us so beautifully. I especially appreciated the range of singing styles that they were able to demonstrate.
Many thanks again"
"A big thank-you for helping me to achieve Distinction in my grade six Musical Theatre examination. Have a great examining tour in New Zealand."
"I would like to express my appreciation of the work carried out within the last year by Luis ALLAN.
Lewis has worked closely with me, expanding the initial work on the modification of my regional accent, to an accent and delivery style that I am extremely happy with. Throughout the sessions, Lewis has always displayed professionalism and understanding, and I extend my personal thanks for his assistance. I would recommend Luis to any individual or body who wish to use his services.
Graham Laird, 4th November, 2003
Ode to Luis by Graham Laird
I needed some help with my speech patterns,
My diction and accent were patchy.
I sent a communication to Luis
To modify and make it less scratchy.
"You need to work from first principles,
Let's start with your posture and breathing,
Then work on your vowels and your consonants
To prevent unnecessary heaving."
Those clusters are awkward to master,
But don't worry, as help is close by
From Luis with his wealth of experience,
His patience, his knowledge and his ties.
"I don't often teach R.P.,
Some others consider it posh.
But I've enjoyed our regular sessions,
Especially the options to josh".
And now like Eliza Doolittle,
That creation of George Bernard Shaw,
It's time to speak in the real world
And remember to loosen the jaw!
